Viral Transmission

Viral diseases like influenza (flu) infections are transmitted from person to person by droplets

Sometimes miniscule, droplets are ejected from the mouth of an infected person when sneezing or coughing etc. People in close proximity are in obvious danger of infection but droplets can also land on surfaces that other people are using infecting them through hand contact.

It is easy to see why nail-biters or finger suckers or any kind of face touchers are particularly vulnerable to being infected in this way.  So people who can avoid habits like nail-biting, finger sucking or any form of face touching are not so vulnerable to infection transmission.
